Candy Corn Wreaths Fall Decorating

I seen this idea on a blog that I browsed at earlier this week and then I also seen it on the Woman's Day Magazine cover and thought it would be an awesome project for the girls and I to try.

Here is what you need:

Styrofoam Wreaths
Hot Glue Gun or Tacky Glue
Black Duct Tape
Lots of Candy Corn-we got regular and chocolate flavored so they weren't all the same color
Ribbon

First you have to cover the wreaths with the black duct tape, you want to do this yourself because the tape is so sticky the kids just mess it all up.

Then you want to start making the rows of candy corn by making a line of glue and having your child put the candy corn on. The older girls I let them put their own glue on. Each line that you make you want to alternate the way the candy corn will lay. I used the hot glue gun on the baby one I made for Jaedyn and it worked really nice but it dries to quickly for the girls to use it.

Next if you use the tacky glue you probably only want to do the top of the wreath and then let it dry overnight, this is what the girls had to do with theirs.

And then instead of copying the picture that is on the Woman's Day magazine we made 4 differently designed wreaths.

Jaedyn's I just put a black bow on the top of it.

Lyndze wanted ribbon around hers and a bow

Kyndal wanted a black bow on each side of hers and on the bottom of the wreath it say BOO

Madyson wanted a big bow on the bottom and two little bows on the sides and hers says HAPPY HALLOWEEN on the bottom of her wreath

And here they are all hung up on the wall.
These are great because you can use them for Halloween decorating and they can stay up for Thanksgiving as well.

Door to Door Salesmen

Ok so today I had a knock on my door and it was two salesmen wanting to do a FREE shampooing for me. They of course seen my baby and asked how many other kids I had if any and I responded with 3 more.

And immediately he was like oh you must be Mormon or Catholic. And I was shocked why would someone just assume that you had to be connected to some kind of religion because you have 4 kids. I have nothing against either religion my friend and my Father's side of the family are all Mormon and my Mom's side of the family is Catholic. I actually am angry with that man for being so ignorant.

Does anyone else think this guy was wrong or is it just me? What if I had 12 kids (HAHA) would he assume that I also had 3 husbands (could you imagine, I can't even handle 1 most of the time)

What's a girl to do when she's secretly in love with a friend and he's married to someone else? She gets over it. That's what Amy Parker has done. And you know, it's working.

Dr. Oz Update

So after following all of the advice from Dr. Oz  show I posted about, in 3 days I managed to lose 1 whole pound. I just started the vitamins on Saturday so hopefully by Wednesday it will be at least another pound gone.

I am officially addicted to the Dr. Oz show. I watched the show about Bed Bugs which was really disgusting I must say but right after the show was over I had to go and inspect all of our beds, and after inspecting 5 beds came to the conclusion that we are not infested with bed bugs so HOPEFULLY it doesn't come to our town anytime soon.

Did anyone else watch this show? It really makes me thing before I go to a movie theater or anywhere really. All I can say is DISGUSTING.

Well thats all for now, football is on and I do actually like watching from time to time, well only when its a team that I like.

Weekend Wind Down - "13 Weekends of Summer" Weekend #13

Oh how I have missed a few weekends linking up to this. I have just been way to busy on the weekends and then when I do have a free minute it seems like all I am doing is trying to clean my house. So this is the last weekend for this meme.

This week's question:
How many memes do you usually link up with in a week, and which one or which day is your favorite?

I usually link up to a Friday Follow to try and get some more followers to my blog and the only other one I have done on a regular basis is this one, which is my favorite. Hopefully I can find another like this one.

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!!

The Dr. Oz Show

So last night I was flipping through the channels on the TV and came across The Dr. Oz Show. I have never watched this show and didn't really know what it was about but it caught my eye because it was called "Just 10". Meaning just 10 pounds. Well I have been trying to lose weight and was doing somewhat good with a total of 9 pounds since August 10th but then I went and sprained my ankle which really stinks because I had only 4 more pounds to lose for my first goal of 14 pounds by October 9th. Hopefully I will be up and being able to do my 2 mile walks again very soon.

Anyways the show was about Dr. OZ getting the country to try and lose just 10 pounds to improve your health and without changing what you eat. He had 4 specialist on the show and they all came up with 5 rules to live by which make complete since. Here they are:

1.  You will cut out sugary soda (for me it means no more iced coffee drinks)
2.  You will not eat past 8PM (no problem with that one)
3.  You will move 10 min/day (not hard to accomplish even with a sprained ankle)
4.  You not eat snacks larger than your fist (this means get your snack out of the kitchen put it in a sandwich   bag and leave the room and when its gone its GONE.
5.  You will track your weight daily (which I already do and when you see the scale go up one day it really makes you watch what you are eating that day)

They also had some supplements you should take to help with the weight loss.

1. Vitamin B Complex-which is supposed to help metabolize-carbs, proteins and fats
2. African Mango (Irvingia Gabonesis)-acts as a super potent fiber
3. Multi-Vitamin

So with all these suggestions it should help you lose 10 pounds without changing what you eat. So I am on a quest to find out if this is true or not.  I won't tell you guys what I weigh but I will keep you posted on my weight loss once a week. I am going to start this today but won't be starting the supplements until Friday so on Friday I will let you know how much I have lost in a few short days and then again next Friday until I meet the 10 pounds. Wish me LUCK.

Fall DownStairs

So I got in my last post hours before I decided it would be really awesome to fall down our stairs.

No really I was trying to hurry down our stairs and get the gate latched before my baby girl seen me because she just does not like me leaving the room. I had my neighbor over Wednesday morning for coffee and just to visit and right after she left I realized I hadn't seen our cat all morning and I knew she was going to have her babies any day now so I wanted to run downstairs and look for her before I started breakfast for the babies.

And that is when is happened....Fell most of the way down the stairs only to start balling because it hurt SO BAD. I crawled back up the stairs and the babies seen me crying so they both started crying and I had to find my phone so I could call my husband to come home because I literally could not move my leg. Found the phone managed to tell him to come home and then I had to make a call to the Mom I babysit for and all I could do was try and keep it together while I was talking to her I did a good job I think of not crying on the phone with her, I didn't want to freak her out.

Husband got home and we went to the emergency room. Where they took x-rays and told me I had sprained my ankle, they put an air cast on and told me to go home and rest. Well this whole time I was telling the doctor that is wasn't my ankle that hurt, it was up the back of my leg but whatever.

That night the pain was so bad I compared it to coming home after having a c-section REALLY. So we went back to the doctor the next day and she looked at the x-rays and said she didn't see anything but that I probably tore some ligaments but they wouldn't be able to tell until my swelling and bleeding went down. So now I have to go back in two weeks and see what they say.

I twisted the same ankle 3 years ago and it felt nothing like this. So here I am today with my air cast on and trying to keep the babies entertained without having to move around alot. I am so very thankful for my husband who took care of me and did all the chores this last weekend and even got the girls ready for school. I LOVE YOU!!!

Labor Day Weekend

After the first week of school that the girls loved, came Labor Day Weekend which means water and theme park to my kids.

At their school in the spring they are given the opportunity to read 600 minutes and in doing so they will get a ticket to Silverwood Theme/Water Park here in Idaho.

So this is our second year we have got to go and boy do the kids love it. We have decided to go during Labor Day so that my parents could come up and enjoy it also with the kids. Now you would think that it being Labor Day plus Silverwoods Car Show weekend that the park would be packed but its NOT. We usually hit up the water park area first thing and manage to go through everything at least twice before you actually have to wait in line. And then we head to the theme park area and try to do all the rides.

This year my 8 year old decided she wanted to go on this one slide that you pretty much fly down, I am not sure how fast they go down it but its all open and all I could think about was her flying out of the slide and getting hurt but she didn't and she loved it and wanted to do it again. And then of course she also had to do the roller coasters and this year she did the corkscrew which goes upside down twice CRAZY CRAZY she is.  My 5 year old wanted to do it to but she is still not tall enough she is 41'' and you have to be 48'' to go on the all scary rides. I actually got to go on some rides too this year, I haven't been on rides well in forever and believe me I thought I was going to die lol. I went on one with my oldest and my 5 year old and they were laughing at me because I was freaking out. FUN FUN TIMES. We also got to watch an amazing ice dancing show, they started off doing some numbers themed to Michael Jackson and then they did Beyonce "Single Ladies", and then they did the chicken dance song, and some other various classical numbers but everything was amazing. I have seen one ice show before and it was Disney Princess on Ice and this show was right up there with it and they made it really fun for the kids.

Sunday we went up in the mountains and tried out some gold panning and exploring. We packed a picnic and the kids loved roaming around in the forest.

And then we just spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and getting my house cleaned and the yard picked up before winter, which seems to be coming fast. It is so cold already.

Pictures to come soon, my camera is not working right for some reason again.

Gifted/Talented Program

So I received papers to fill out so that my daughter could be evaluated for the gifted/talented program at her school. I don't really know a lot about this program and haven't been able to find much out about it on the internet either.

Does anyone know about this program?

What do you suggest doing?

I just don't want it to be something that puts that much more responsibility on her as far as school work goes but I would love it for her if she gets to experience new things. I just don't know what to do about it and would love some input.

Can't Believe It!

I just ordered my daughters first birthday party invitations and party supplies and I just can't BELIEVE she is going to be 1 already, October 8th is the big day. The year has gone by so fast and she is growing up so fast.
She is already walking everywhere, and she has already developed her own little attitude and she is pretty sure she is the Queen of the house.
