Hello

Again it's been a few months since I have any checked out anyone's blogs let alone update my own.

I was gone most the summer visiting friends and family in Oregon, which is always so nice not only for me but also for my kids.

I have been slowly updating my house. Today I had a interior design class come in from a local university and they are going to redesign my kitchen and give me a presentation in about a month. It will be fun to see all their ideas, I think I will have 4 different designs.

My kids are all growing up SOOO fast, in a week my youngest daughter will be turning 3.

Tomorrow I'm going to be shopping all day with my friend. Our first stop is Just Between Friends. If you haven't heard of this before you should check it out. Basically its a huge consignment shop filled with kids clothes and toys for super cheap. This is my first time going but my friend goes every time they have it which is twice a year in our area.

I have managed to lose about 10 pounds in 2 months which is pretty good I think, better than gaining right?

Until next time my friends......

Crazy Life

My posting on this blog has been so horrible for pretty much the past year. I really don't have much of an excuse other than I have 5 kids babysit 3 more and I'm not about to stay up late to make sure I get posts done. Right now all the kids are taking a nap so I actually have some time to tell you guys that I'm still here :)

My son just turned 1 on the 24th, it's so crazy how fast it went by. My older 3 only have 6 more days of school left so it's just going to be crazy here this summer. No really I love having them home (except for the occasional fighting of course)

We are heading to Oregon in June so we can drop the kids off with my Mom and then off we go to Reno so we can watch my sister-in-law get married. It will be so nice to get away with my husband for a few days without the kids. Here we don't do anything together without the kids so it will be relaxing.  Then the kids and I will be spending about a month in Oregon because we have birthday parties, family picnic's, Oregon Jamboree and just getting to visit with friends and family and of course the yearly camping trip.

Until next time...

Cliques, hicks and ugly sticks *Book Review*

Book Description:

After an automobile accident, Isabel St. James-resident drama coach and drama queen-needs help putting together the church play. Mama insists April Grace and Myra Sue will help. April's fall is now devoted to spending every afternoon with Isabel and Myra Sue-if anyone is as big of a drama queen as Isabel, it's Myra Sue. Plus, she's dumb. (Okay, not dumb, but "older sister dumb.") If that's not enough, Isabel is wreaking havoc in the community trying to get Rough Creek Road paved, the new boy at school will not leave her alone, and then Mama drops the biggest bombshell of all . . . April Grace is no longer going to be the baby of the family .

My Thoughts:
Cliques, Hicks and Ugly Sticks is the second book in the "Confessions of April Grace" series by KD McCrite and now I feel like I need to go and buy the first one.
First of all I have to say I love reading tween and teen books. This book is about an 11 year old girl who is starting junior high and dealing with changes in her family and you can really relate to what she is saying and feeling about all the struggles of school and family. This girl is so darn funny I couldn't help but really laugh out loud in a few parts. I told my daughter what this book was about so I'm going to start her off with the first one and I know she is going to love it being an 11 year old herself and starting 6th grade next year and dealing with her siblings. This book is an excellent book and there is no worry about what your kids may be reading about its Christian based.

Strike It Rich with Pocket Change *Book Review*

Book Description:
In late 2007 a collector found a double die cast 1969 Lincoln cent piece in a plain brown roll of coins. That penny was auctioned in early January 2008 for $126,500.00. To the untrained eye, that penny might look no different than any other. But in their concise and informative book, Ken Potter and Dr. Brian Allen give you all the tools you need to spot mint errors and turn small coins - ones you may have in your pocket right now, or that big glass jug at home - into big cash. They distill their years of collecting experience into simple chapters like 'Age Does Not Equal Value', 'Tools of the Trade', and 'Where to Sell Your Coins' that show you step-by-step how to spot and sell these treasures.

My Thoughts:
This book is so INTERESTING...the many different ways that a penny or other pocket change could be worth more than what we think is unbelievable. I however did not have any coins in my purse that would bring me the big bucks. It is also very fun for the kids to look at all their coins trying to find something that is in the book. If you have tons of coins laying around the house or in a piggy bank you might want to check this book out you never know when you are going to find the rare number or letter and STRIKE IT RICH.
