Merry Christmas

I just wanted to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.

I was woke up this morning by my 6 year old saying,"I heard footsteps on the roof, it was Santa Claus" she runs out to the front room and is in total amazement at all the presents under the tree, it just made me think how I love days like this. After being awake for awhile she finally goes back to sleep around 5 and now I am sitting here waiting for everyone else to wake up.

Now we have all of our family visiting from Oregon this weekend, so a total of 17 1/2 (baby on the way) people in my house. Which means 9 kids with presents under the tree.  Now sometimes in can be a little loud and hectic in the house but I wouldn't change it for anything.

Can't wait for all the kids to wake up!!!!!

Candy Land Party

This past weekend we had a Candy Land Party at our house. It was so much fun and the kids had a blast playing the game, I think they must have played at least 4 times. Ages ranging from 3-10.
Now I was so impressed with the improvements they made to the game as were the other adults we all said Wow when we opened the box to set the games up.
New Version
Old Version

They have added a few more characters amd places like: Grandma Gooey, Princess Frostine (used to be Queen), Duke of Swirl, Chocolate Mountain, Ice Palace, Licorice Lagoon, Gingerbread House, Peppermint Pass, Gummy Hills, Gummy Pass, Ice Cream Slopes, Cupcake Commons

And also took out a few details from the older version like:Molasses Swamp, Gloppy, Ice Cream Sea, Gramma Nut, Peanut Brittle House, Rainbow Trail, Licorice Castle, Gumdrop Mountains, Gumdrop Pass, Jolly, Mr. Mint, Peppermint Forest, Plumpy, and Gingerbread Plum Trees.
Old Version

Now keep in mind the new version is from 2010 my old version was from 2001.
The new version has so much more details, it looks fantastic.

Hasbro provided me with the product and the information through MyBlogSpark

Advent Calendar

So I'm a little late in posting this but I recently decided to make our Advent calendar this year, I found an idea for one in one of my all time favorite cookbooks The Gooseberry Patch.

What you need:

16X20 Frame
Red Fabric to cover the back
1 1/2 inch wide ribbon
card stock-Christmas themed
Green card stock
White paper
Hot glue gun
Red Marker

Directions:
Take out the glass on the frame and cover the back with the red fabric, use the glue gun to stick in place.
Next cut out 4 pieces of ribbon that will go from top to bottom and again glue it in place.
Now you are going to cut out 24 pieces of cardstock 2X2 inches. Then you will use the envelope pattern.
Then again glue around where you folded the cardstock and stick to the ribbon
Next you will cut out 24- 1X1 inch green pieces
And again glue beside your pockets
Now cut out 24-1/2X1/2 white paper pieces
Glue onto green paper
Next take take the red marker and number all the white pieces of paper from 1-24.
Now for the fun part fill with treats

Baby #5

That's right we are EXPECTING Baby #5 in May.  May 30th to be exact but we will probably have the baby May 26th since I get to pick the date I want to see my new baby.  I know most people think we are crazy I on the other hand can't wait actually I wish this didn't have to be our last, now that is probably crazy.

So we found out in September that we were going to have another baby and at first I was shocked for 3 days to be exact and my husband was so happy. I had only been off birth control pills for about 3 weeks when I conceived. We knew we wanted another baby we just thought it would take a little longer like it did with our 1 year old, it took almost 3 years for her.

The minute my husband found out he said we aren't telling anyone until a month before you are due, which would have been doable because all of our family lives in Oregon, I would have been able to kinda hide it during Christmas, but then we had this great idea that I might be able to find out what we are having the week of Christmas and then we could just tell everyone at Christmas but I just couldn't hold in in any longer, so we told everyone over Thanksgiving weekend. I like I thought most were excited for us and a few told us we were crazy but whatever WE ARE HAPPY so I think that is all that really matters.

Now the big question is...What are we going to have? Another girl to add to our family or maybe that long awaited boy that my husband could enjoy doing MEN things with.

And now I have to think about what I am going to change the name of my blog to.
