Merry Christmas
I just wanted to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.
I was woke up this morning by my 6 year old saying,"I heard footsteps on the roof, it was Santa Claus" she runs out to the front room and is in total amazement at all the presents under the tree, it just made me think how I love days like this. After being awake for awhile she finally goes back to sleep around 5 and now I am sitting here waiting for everyone else to wake up.
Now we have all of our family visiting from Oregon this weekend, so a total of 17 1/2 (baby on the way) people in my house. Which means 9 kids with presents under the tree. Now sometimes in can be a little loud and hectic in the house but I wouldn't change it for anything.
Can't wait for all the kids to wake up!!!!!

Candy Land Party
This past weekend we had a Candy Land Party at our house. It was so much fun and the kids had a blast playing the game, I think they must have played at least 4 times. Ages ranging from 3-10.
Now I was so impressed with the improvements they made to the game as were the other adults we all said Wow when we opened the box to set the games up.
They have added a few more characters amd places like: Grandma Gooey, Princess Frostine (used to be Queen), Duke of Swirl, Chocolate Mountain, Ice Palace, Licorice Lagoon, Gingerbread House, Peppermint Pass, Gummy Hills, Gummy Pass, Ice Cream Slopes, Cupcake Commons
And also took out a few details from the older version like:Molasses Swamp, Gloppy, Ice Cream Sea, Gramma Nut, Peanut Brittle House, Rainbow Trail, Licorice Castle, Gumdrop Mountains, Gumdrop Pass, Jolly, Mr. Mint, Peppermint Forest, Plumpy, and Gingerbread Plum Trees.
Now keep in mind the new version is from 2010 my old version was from 2001.
The new version has so much more details, it looks fantastic.
Hasbro provided me with the product and the information through MyBlogSpark

Baby #5
That's right we are EXPECTING Baby #5 in May. May 30th to be exact but we will probably have the baby May 26th since I get to pick the date I want to see my new baby. I know most people think we are crazy I on the other hand can't wait actually I wish this didn't have to be our last, now that is probably crazy.
So we found out in September that we were going to have another baby and at first I was shocked for 3 days to be exact and my husband was so happy. I had only been off birth control pills for about 3 weeks when I conceived. We knew we wanted another baby we just thought it would take a little longer like it did with our 1 year old, it took almost 3 years for her.
The minute my husband found out he said we aren't telling anyone until a month before you are due, which would have been doable because all of our family lives in Oregon, I would have been able to kinda hide it during Christmas, but then we had this great idea that I might be able to find out what we are having the week of Christmas and then we could just tell everyone at Christmas but I just couldn't hold in in any longer, so we told everyone over Thanksgiving weekend. I like I thought most were excited for us and a few told us we were crazy but whatever WE ARE HAPPY so I think that is all that really matters.
Now the big question is...What are we going to have? Another girl to add to our family or maybe that long awaited boy that my husband could enjoy doing MEN things with.
And now I have to think about what I am going to change the name of my blog to.

Glee Gum Giveaway
How Glee Gum got started? In 1992, the concept for Verve was born when we visited an economically depressed chicle-producing community in Northern Guatemala. Up until then, we had never really thought about how chewing gum was made. When we realized its origins, we learned that prior to the synthetic resins, chicle was the basis of the entire industry. Our goal was to support chicle-harvesting by purchasing chicle. With this goal in mind, Verve was born
Glee Gum is all natural chewing gum made with sustainably harvested rainforest chicle. It comes in SIX great flavors: cinnamon, peppermint, tangerine, bubblegum, spearmint, and triple berry. Glee Gum is the #1 healthy alternative to synthetic chewing gum and bubble gum! With no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners (no aspartame), or preservatives, it's easy to chew Glee-fully!
Glee Gum also offers activity kits for children are fun and educational. They are great for science classes, birthday parties, scout troops, and home schools. Kids can make chocolate, chewing gum, or gummy candy and learn a lot in the process!
Now I received the Make your Own Chewing Gum kit to try out with my kids and they had a blast, we made peppermint flavored gum and they just had so much fun doing it.

Country Bob's Giveaway
When I came across Country Bob's website I knew it was something we had to try. I couldn't wait to try it either, so the other night I had my husband cook some elk meat and we all tried it out even my kids.Oh my gosh it was the best steak sauce I have ever tasted REALLY.
About Country Bob's
"In 1968 Country Bob perfected the sauce of his dreams. After years of giving the sauce to friends and family he began to sell it in 1977. The reaction was overwhelming just as it is today. Almost everyone who tries Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce becomes a lifelong user. And why not, it is the perfect complement to practically any meal set on your table.
Along with our All Purpose Sauce we have expanded our product line to include BBQ Sauce, Seasoning Salt and Spicy All Purpose Sauce."
I found this recipe on their website that I am going to try this week too.
Country Bob's Meatloaf
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs lean hamburger
1/4 cup chopped onions
12 crushed saltine crackers
2 eggs, beaten
1 T Country Bob's Seasoning Salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3/4 cup Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce (or may substitute Spicy)
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup chopped onions
12 crushed saltine crackers
2 eggs, beaten
1 T Country Bob's Seasoning Salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3/4 cup Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce (or may substitute Spicy)
1/4 cup milk
Methods/steps
Mix all ingredients together, place in baking dish, shape in loaf, pour a little more Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce on top and bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
Sounds yummy doesn't it.

BOOGIE WIPES GIVEAWAY
I had the opportunity to try out Boogie Wipes and it couldn't have been at a better time of the year. It seems likes when school starts the kids start bringing home coughs and colds and it drives me crazy but now we have Boogie Wipes and they can't complain about their nose hurting every time it gets wiped.
About Boogie Wipes:
Often referred to as The Boogie Moms®, friends Mindee Doney and Julie Pickens developed the first ever saline nose wipe called Boogie Wipes® as a solution for their kids’ sore, red, runny noses. Using the idea, their business backgrounds and mompreneurial spirit they formed Little Busy Bodies, Inc in May, 2007. After an intensive research and development process, hiring a chemist, surveying consumers and interviewing manufacturers, in December, 2007 they sold their first pack of Boogie Wipes. Sales went on to reach $1 Million their first year of business. Little Busy Bodies now operates out of Beaverton, OR and employs 12 full-time employees (9 moms) including Julie as CEO and Mindee as CMO. The company tripled their revenue in 2009 at $3.4 Million. They now offer 11 saline nose wipe products to 50,000 retail stores across the US and Canada including; Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens & Toys”R”Us. Their adult line of nose wipes, Achooz, will launch this spring.
Boogie Wipes has a Fall promotion going on right now called Save The Sleeve. Its a fun place for kids and it helps them learn to use their boogie wipe instead of their sleeve. There are also some gross facts that your kids just might find interesting.
My thoughts: I had all the kids try the wipes even if they didn't have a runny nose and they said they loved them, they were so soft and they especially loved the grape flavored.
To WIN: Boogie Wipes has offered ONE of my readers (2) packs of 30-count wipes (fresh, grape, menthol, or unscented– combination varies)
Mandatory Entry:Go to their Website and tell me that I haven't mentioned already.

Wow
What an exhausting weekend, but I would do it all over again any day to be with family and friends for a weekend.
We left Thursday night at 6:00 in hopes that the kids would sleep most of the way which they did from about 9:30 on. So that was really nice. Sometime during the drive I had to pull over on the side of the highway to give something to the baby and our dog decided to jump out without me knowing. So we got about 2 miles down the road and my husband was like where is Rose. So everyone started looking for Rose and she was no where to be found. So I had to drive another mile or so to find a u-turn spot and we raced back to where I had stopped and she was just sitting there waiting for us. It was a very hectic few minutes the kids were crying and all I could think about was that if the dog wasn't there we were going home my oldest daughter would have been in a horrible state seeing as how is was her dog. Whew. We made it to my moms at about 2:30 in the morning and went straight to bed.
Friday we left the kids with my mom so my husband and I could go and see my friends new cafe that she opened and then we had to get the kids ready for trick or treating in downtown Corvallis. We only did one street because the kids started complaining about all the walking and their feet hurt......and then back to the cafe to see what we could do to help out.
Saturday I got to go shopping with my sister in law and the hubby got to go hunting while the kids hung out with my mom again. Then we had birthday party to attend for my little niece. Next we took my husbands father and mother out to dinner for his dad's birthday. And then back to the cafe.
Sunday we had to go home which I so did not want to do, if the kids didn't have school I would not be in Idaho right now.
We can't wait to go back at Thanksgiving time.

Fall Goodies #10
Black Cat Dippers with Pumpkin Pie Dip
So the kids had this for snack yesterday and oh my gosh all I kept hearing was how good the dip was it was really funny.
Recipe
Sorry camera still not working, this is from Taste of Home |
Recipe
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1 can (15 ounces) solid-pack pumpkin
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 package (15 ounces) refrigerated pie pastry
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Black paste food coloring
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add the pumpkin, confectioners' sugar, pie spice and honey; beat until smooth. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
- Roll out each pie pastry directly on an ungreased baking sheet to 1/8-in. thickness. Cut with a floured 2-in. cat-shaped cookie cutter, leaving at least 1 in. between cutouts. Remove excess dough and reroll scraps if desired. Beat the egg, milk and food coloring; brush over cutouts. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over cutouts.
- Bake at 400° for 6-7 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Remove to wire racks to cool. Serve with pumpkin dip.
Halloween Books to Read #5
SKELETON HICCUPS
"Skeletons are a little less scary when they have the hiccups. This particular skeleton can't seem to shake them--not in the shower (nice fuzzy bat slippers!), not while brushing his teeth (woops! there goes the bottom jaw!), not while polishing his bones, carving a pumpkin, raking leaves, or even when playing baseball with his friend Ghost. Ghost, instead of Boo-ing! away his buddy's hiccups right away as we might expect, advises Skeleton to hold his breath and eat some sugar and drink water upside down. When he finally does Boo! it still doesn't work. But when Ghost finds a mirror and holds it up to Skeleton's face, he sees his reflection and screams in fright! The hiccups jump away, hic, hic, hic. While it's novel to see a skeleton eating sugar, drinking water, showering, etc., it may be tricky to find the right audience for this unusual picture book that's more about hiccups than Halloween. (Ages 4 to 8)" from Amazon
My Thoughts-First of all let me start off by saying I really hate skeletons, I think they are horrible decorations, I have never been able to understand why people would buy kids clothes with skulls and things on them I just in no way find that adorable. Anyways as far as the book goes my kids loved it. Every page has hic, hic, hic on it so I would read the words and the kids would make the hiccup sounds it was really funny and this is such a cute book.
