Spring OR Winter

Here I thought we were going into Spring but to me it feels like Winter.

Yesterday and today I was standing outside with my girls waiting for the school bus and I was freezing and not only was it super cold it had snowed and was snowing this morning. I guess I am completely confused at what Mother Nature is thinking.

I want it to be warm outside so I can open my windows and doors and smell the fresh air, I want to be able to go outside in my Flip Flops and not rain boots. I want to be able to open my sunroof in my car. I want it to be SUMMER not Spring anymore.

The Money Answer Book by Dave Ramsey *Review*

This book is an Question and Answer type book about your finances.  This book is filled with over 100 questions-everything from budget planning to retirement planning or personal buying matters, to saving for college and charitable giving.  This book talks about taking "Baby Steps" to reach a financial well being so to speak. Baby Step #1 $1,000 in an emergency fund, this is our first step we need to accomplish. It also talks about how to teach your kids some money smarts which was really good information and it all makes since.This would be a great book for a graduation present. 

I would recommend this book to everyone, before they start college or even if you are ready to retire this book will help you.  When I received this book I was worried it would be a very boring read but it was quite interesting and I actually learned some things. Some of his strategies I will be starting soon. See in my family I am the one that likes to spend money and my husband hates it, so if I can start doing say the "Envelope" idea I think that maybe my husband wouldn't be so upset when I spent money and we are actually going to start the "Baby Steps" program as well.

Frustrated

So I am just going to speak my mind today. I am really upset. I participated in a blogger gift exchange and sent a very nice gift to my person days before the deadline for the gift to be sent out and I still have not received anything in return.

I know this might sound greedy or something to some of you but I don't believe so I believe that if you say you are going to participate in something like that then you need to follow the guidelines and send your gift. I just had to speak my mind about this today because it just really FRUSTRATES me.  It is 17 days after the deadline and still nothing has arrived.

What do you think? Do I have a right to be frustrated about this or am I just being ridiculous? Give me your opinions please.

Meal Plan

Ok here is my meal plan for the week. I make a menu for 2 weeks and then I let my kids pick what days we are going to have what. They love being able to pick what they want instead of me always deciding.

Monday- Chili

Tuesday- Cube Steak, Mashed Potatoes and Corn

Wednesday- Spaghetti, Garlic Bread, Salad

Thursday- Mac & Cheese, Hamburger Patties with Mushroom Sauce, Green Beans

Friday- Breakfast

'The Princess and the Pea' Play

So today they are holding auditions for The Princess and the Pea Play at my kids school and of course they are going to be auditioning.

It's by the Missoula Children's Theatre. They are going to be casting about 60 students grade K-12, so hopefully they both get parts. The play requires a pretty grueling schedule, starting today they have to be there for 2 hours and then if they do get a part there is practice every day this week which could be up to 41/2 hours long.

The performance will be held Saturday May 1st @3 and @7 so if they do get parts they will have to perform twice as well. It is going to be so exciting.

So a little about the Missoula Children's Theatre- The Missoula Children's Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. This year they will cast a total of 65,000 cast members across the GLOBE. Its such a great opportunity for kids around the world.

Accomplished

Today I feel so accomplished and I really haven't done that much. I got the house cleaned and mopped, carpets shampooed and dinner on the stove to simmer the rest of the day. Just getting these few things done I feel so great. Now I am off to try and go through more boxes and fill up some boxes for a garage sale later this year.  

For those of you that are new to following my blog we just moved to Idaho in February and yes I am still trying to go through boxes I feel like we just don't need anything else in our house and this house is so much bigger than the one we moved from. Where am I supposed to put it all?  AHHHHHHH

Family Night

Tonight is Family Night in our house we either watch a movie together or play games. So tonight we are going to play some games.  First is a High School Musical game my sister in law bought (not sure how easy it is but we are going to try).

I was selected to participate in the Bicycle House Party. So this week I will be getting a package that includes a ton of cards and other stuff so tonight we are also going to play some cards to practice for our actual party night on the 8th of May.

We are going to play War, Crazy Eights and Slap Jack.

Then the adults here we are going to learn how to play Canasta and Euchre.
I personally have never heard of Euchre but it should be fun always up for new games.
